About Phoenix Sagen

Founder of MyTravel4Ever

Hi, I’m Phoenix… founder of MyTravel4Ever, travel advisor, wildlife photographer, artist, and someone who still gets just as excited about spotting a wild elephant as I did flipping through National Geographic magazines as a kid.

Travel has always been about more than checking destinations off a list. For me, it’s about understanding the world, connecting with people, and spending time in the places that remind us how incredible this planet really is.

Over the years I’ve explored more than 50 countries, but every journey still teaches me something new. Along the way, I’ve earned degrees in Business and Global Studies, built MyTravel4Ever, and had the privilege of designing adventures that bring together wildlife, wellness, photography, conservation, and meaningful cultural experiences.

These days, my focus is simple: creating small-group journeys for people who want to slow down, look a little closer, and experience destinations in a way that’s thoughtful, authentic, and fun. Whether we’re photographing lions on safari, practicing Pilates overlooking the sea, hiking through spectacular landscapes, or sharing stories around the dinner table after a day of adventure, my goal is to create experiences that you’ll remember long after you’ve unpacked your suitcase.

When I’m not leading trips, you’ll usually find me behind a camera, creating travel resources and artwork inspired by the places I’ve visited, or planning the next adventure that helps travelers discover not just where to go but why it matters. Join me on an adventure and let’s travel the world together!

I Don’t Just Talk About Travel…

I Build Meaningful Connections To It.

East Africa has long held a special place in my heart… not just for its breathtaking landscapes and extraordinary wildlife, but for the people, stories, and sense of connection that live there.

As MyTravel4Ever continues to grow, I’m incredibly excited to share that I’m now partnering more closely with trusted teams and conservation-focused operators throughout East Africa. This next chapter means I’ll be spending more time on the ground in destinations like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda… building relationships, scouting experiences, supporting local communities, and creating immersive journeys that go far beyond traditional tourism.

From sunrise safaris beneath Mount Kilimanjaro to meaningful cultural encounters, conservation initiatives, and wellness-focused travel experiences, my goal is to help travelers experience East Africa in a deeper, more intentional way.

This isn’t just about planning trips. It’s about creating experiences that inspire connection, wonder, education, and impact.

And honestly? I feel like I’m just getting started. 🌍

Featured + Trusted

I’ve been fortunate to share my travel stories in publications like Reader’s Digest and ShoutOut Colorado. Along the way, I’ve also appeared on travel and lifestyle podcasts, offering reflections from the road, including a few hard-earned lessons.

I’ve also had the honor of speaking at women’s conferences as both a presenter and emcee. These conversations have centered around travel safety, emerging trends, gear I trust, and the importance of responsible tourism.

When I’m not planning adventures or guiding trips, I’m creating. I’m a published travel author with a growing collection of coloring books, travel journals, and artwork. You can find them on Amazon and in my online shop… each piece inspired by the beauty of the world we explore together.

Curious? Go ahead and take a peek! There’s a little something for every explorer at heart.

Why I Do This

Travel is in my genes… truly.

My roots trace back to the Viking explorers, with generations of my family settling across Canada and later journeying to California during the Gold Rush. Their adventures were carefully documented in journals and books, leaving behind a legacy of exploration and storytelling that still inspires me today.

That’s why in many ways, I feel I’m simply continuing that tradition.

Through global travel, creative expression, and conscious adventure planning, I carry forward their spirit of curiosity, courage, and connection.

Whether you’re here to join a small-group trip, download free travel resources, shop travel-inspired art, or simply explore the blog for expert travel tips and destination inspiration… welcome. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.

Let’s reimagine the way we travel… together.
